It's a double gameweek (sort of) and while I swore I would give up on football last week after watching Man United concede in the last minute, that didn't last too long and I have calmed down now. Last week's batch of predictions weren't entirely off either, as I correctly guessed 5 out of the 10 fixtures (by result not scoreline.) Villa beating Arsenal gave me hope but they were quickly dashed.
Anyway new fixtures, new predictions.
Leicester 1 - 1 Liverpool
Crystal Palace 0 - 0 Burnley
Man City 2 - 0 Spurs
Brighton 0 - 1 Aston Villa
Southampton 1 - 2 Wolves
West Brom 1 - 2 Man United
Arsenal 3 - 3 Leeds
Everton 3 - 1 Fulham
West Ham 1 - 0 Sheffield
Chelsea 2 - 0 Newcastle
Burnley 2 - Fulham 2 *
Everton 0 - 1 Man City *
*Team's second fixture
Justifications are always in order. Liverpool, as disjointed as they are at the moment, will know how important their game against Leicester is in the fight for fourth place...
City are unstoppable at the moment and Spurs, well, they're quite stoppable to be honest and on the back of conceding 5, I don't see them faring much better.
United really should beat the worst team in the league. They should, except I wouldn't be surprised if they continued to bottle it. It's best to keep my expectations low.
I'm calling a thriller at the Emirates. Dodgy defences collide and there should be a lot of goals here.
Chelsea will continue to have 90% possession under Tuchel and grab a couple of fortunate goals and again, City will probably win I can't really argue otherwise.
And finally, the Paddy Power odds of my all predictions being correct (by result not scoreline) is:
8900/1
That should cover my Uni tuition fee for the year. Lovely...
